IOS 7 update: Don't leap yet
The next big upgrade to the iPhone/iPad operating system, IOS 7, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Although I plan to blithely upgrade my IOS devices, this is a case of do as I say, not do as I do.
There are plenty of nice features in IOS 7, but many of the more advanced features could easily break custom apps and profiles used by my clients in the financial, insurance and medical industries. Those of you who have had me install applications and modify settings based on requirements from your corporate IT departments or your insurance or financial providers may want to wait a bit.
Although the new features are nice, if you use your phone or iPad for business, there is no point in jeopardizing that business just to be able to say you have the latest gee-whiz features.
